Distancing themselves from the confusion and anxiety surrounding the Pope’s visit in September, the Secret Service is denying that they are responsible for any reports of Bridge or road closures for the Papal visit. The Secret Service will provide their logistical details in early September, and any information before then is speculation.

The Greyhound Bus Terminal near 10th Street in Philadelphia may be closed for a few days during Pope Francis’ visit. With over 120 arrivals and departures each day from all over the country, Greyhound officials do not know where an alternate terminal may be set up for them to use.

Yesterday, Mayor Nutter revisited his earlier statements about Security Fencing for the Pope’s visit in September. He explained that parts of the city may be fenced off as with any other visiting dignitary, but the entire city would not be fenced off as many media outlets are reporting.
Specific information about street closures and security perimeters would not be released until three weeks before the event. As the Pope’s schedule is subject to change, no further information will be provided until the end of August.
